| Bio: | I'm a 54 yo, fiber artist, instructor, & writer. I do many fiber crafts, but have yet to learn to weave. I enjoy spinning & knitting & am considered advanced, I've won first, second and third place ribbons for handspun yarn & handspun/hand knit and/or crocheted items I've entered at various venues. I sell my excess yarn and hand crafted items at the local farmers market as well as selling my yarn and fiber at the local yarn shop (LYS). I also teach classes there: beginning knitting, Kids Kamp for beginners and intermediate knitters, beginners spinning as well as toy making. I especially love teaching the kids though--they're so receptive to new ideas in working with yarn and two sticks. I love to share what I've learned with others. There is nothing as satisfying to me as learning more about fiber arts & teaching others how to do them, except demonstrating at various events, fair, & festivals. The biggest thing I've done this year is to learn how to write patterns for knitting and crocheting. It takes a lot of work, but I'm getting the hang of it with the help of some knitting software.
